Our most recent "Getaway"

Chag-a-nooga
(Chattanooga, TN)
Not only was this trip my most favorite (lets face it, they are all my favorite), I am positive my son has his first memories here. Every time I ask him what he is thinking about he says "Chaganooga". Its the sweetest thing ever. I love he remembers places we go. I love he asks to go back. I love even more that he remembers when we have been down a street and he will say "We have been down this road before". He get that from me when it comes to remembering roads.
For starters...We decided that Monday we would leave that Friday to go on a trip. Those are my favorite trips! Trips we don't really plan...they just happen! Wednesday night my little started running a fever. No big deal right? Nothing like a low grade fever to get rid of a bug. That night I stayed in the living room to monitor him. Around 12 he went from a low grade fever to a fever that would scare any momma. Fantastic!
We decided we would go on vacation in hopes that it would run its coarse and things would be ok. I brought a long my elderberry syrup and a few highlands mixtures. They do the trick for us and off we went.
We got to the hotel to late to go to any attractions so we decided to go to the mall and let our little play at the play place in the middle of the mall. Then like most great parents we took our son out to eat at 10pm at night. I normally look at parents that do that and say "What the crap are you doing with your child out so late!"...now I know what they are doing out so late...they are on vacation.
We didn't get to sleep until 1 that night. It was fantastic. Caden slept until noon the next day...and if we hadn't been on vacation I would have thought it was the best thing in the world...but we wasted half the day! We went to the aquarium and he thought that was the best thing EVER.
This is him trying to touch a sea creature. He loved it.
I know this looks just like an ordinary butterfly, but this is a newly "hatched" baby! They had a nursery of butterflies in pupa/chrysalis ! Although there is no such thing as a baby butterfly it was neat to watch them come out of their pupa/chrysalis.

It was awesome!

Then my littles most favorite part of the whole trip.

TRAINS!

My son has a disorder where he refuses to look at me and smile at the camera. He wont do it.

I am not a professional photographer...still learning.

Since I have had my son I am an emotional train wreck. No pun intended. When I saw this steamie come around that corner tears rolled down my eyes. No lie. May have been one of my sons happiest days of his life. It looks like Annie and Clarabelle on the back of that train. (Thomas friends will know what I am talking about)

Say it isn't so!

I can't believe it was January when I last posted! Are you kidding me!?!? Now you know that I am a TERRIBLE journal keeper.
About 18 months ago my husband bought me a computer. It is an all in one touch screen thing and only got it because we got a killer deal...THEN three weeks later my precious, darling, angel of a boy kicked the computer off the kitchen table trying to save a train from falling off the cliff. Yes I KNOW it shouldn't have been on the table, BUT we lived in a house so small that it was LITERALLY the only place for it to go. Lesson learned for all of us. Right after it happened I checked around to see how much it would cost to get it fixed...and well it would have cost me as much to fix the screen as it was to buy the computer...so I waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. The thing about touch screens is they were made to function when you touch them...so the screen started flickering. A LOT. It was nearly impossible for me to do anything on the computer. I finally broke down and paid someone to fix the screen. I guess that explains part of my absence.
What have the Pelley's been up to?? I am so glad you asked!!

My parents came in October and we literally had a week of constant movement. They were here from Utah and we spent 1 day at my house. We had a blast!

We have discovered our favorite beach is Navaree Beach in Florida. The sand is so beautiful! This is the only place we have found that we find marine life and lots and lots and LOTS of sea shells. It is private for the most part. If you are searching for a semi private beach that is very family friendly this is the place for SURE.

If you have never used TripAdvisor I highly recommend it.

Is that not a beautiful view!?!?

This is my son's most favorite place to go when we go to the beach. Its the Naval museum...and we could literally spend ALL day there.

I try and make a few Holidays special. Fall is probably my most favorite season. I love the leaves changing colors and I love the smell of fall. We have been to the same Fall festival for two years in a row and this year we decided to go to a different one.

He thought he was terrified of riding horses...then he got on it...and he was a natural.

That face is priceless.

Swimming in some corn.

Lets take our next trip on my next blog post...maybe we can catch up! Missed you!!!!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year my friends!
Gosh its been entirely to long since I've written. This has always been a safe place for me, but its just been a little while since I've felt like I could take a few minutes away to sit and write a little. Family comes first right? Everyone understands that.
Lets talk about something more positive!
IT'S A NEW YEAR!!!
What does that mean for you????
For me it means new goals. It feels like a new start!! A fresh slate. I don't make "resolutions" per say but I do like to make goals. (maybe its the same thing...but to me if feels different)
Last year I set out to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I have read the book but not from front to back. I've taken classes and I've gone to church most of my life, but never have read it. I know how it sounds but its true. Last night about 10:00 I finally finished it. Its been a long journey. I almost feel like its been a Hobbit journey, but its done. I feel like I am a different person because of it. You can't read it and not feel different. How much of that book rings true today?? I had to remember how old this book was and I was reading it in 2014! Its unbelievable. If you haven't read it, whether you are or aren't LDS, I recommend you reading it.
We also wanted to have Adam to be a store manager in whatever store our Father in Heaven wanted him to be in. He sent us to Hamilton. Apparently we are needed here.
After that...Goals that aren't written down are just dreams! With that said. That is all I remember!

Its been such an amazing year. How blessed I feel that we have what we have. Its not because of what we have done, but who we put our trust in. I feel like when I try to do things my own way they never really ever work out.

2014

From living in Adamsville to moving to Hamilton.

Adam gaining experience in four totally different stores last year that I am sure will help us in the rest of our career in Walmart.

Caden starting preschool and loving it! He has learned so much.

Caden learning and growing every single day. Some of the things he comes up with blows my mind.

(Like yesterday we were talking about the planets. We were naming them and having a discussion on how to pronounce Uranus and I say "Ur-anus not My-anus" and Caden picks up on that and says "No Cadens-anus"...it was hard not to laugh. I know its inappropriate, but it is to funny)

I don't want to take the credit for most of the things I have accomplished this year so I wont name any. I want to say the biggest has been finishing the Book of Mormon. That is what I am most proud of. (Obviously keeping my family alive, but outside of that.)

2015

Here is my Scripture for 2015:
Moroni 10:32
"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God"
I think its perfect. Getting rid of all ungodliness in my life. Its a constant battle.
Here are my goals for 2015

1. Read the Bible from front to back along with the Book of Mormon

2. Pay off 2 of our credit cards. (I am ashamed we have them)

3. Update at least 3 of the rooms in our new home. (I would love to have the entire thing updated, BUT that's not reasonable)

4. Start taking classes to become and Herbalist.

5. Blog every Wednesday like I used to. (I do miss it)

6. Get out of Hamilton to see my friends in other cities!!!

7. Continue to grow my Mary Kay business. (www.marykay.com/jcpelley)

I think that will do. I don't want to overwhelm myself and then set myself up for failure!

Do you set goals??

What are they for this year???

I have missed you glad we reconnected again!
